Traffic Manager Development for a Roundabout Crossed by Autonomous and Connected Vehicles Using V2I Architecture

Connected Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) is considered as a proposal toward sustainable mobility. In order to succeed in mobility solution, “CAV” or more precisely “CAV Transport System” should prove be low energy, safe, and allow better performances than human-driven vehicles. This paper will propose system architecture for CAV System on standard scenario: crossing roundabout. Nowadays, roundabouts are very common practical alternatives improve the traffic flow increase safety. study aims simulate analyze behavior of connected autonomous vehicles roundabout using V2I (vehicle-to-infrastructure) architecture. The exchanging information with so-called central signaling unit. All their position, speed, target destination. unit has global view compared each ego vehicle (has local information); thus, can safely efficiently manage block strategy. strategy decision (CSU) performed by dividing into several zones/blocks which booked only one at time. A solver, reproducing vehicle’s dynamics, computes trajectory velocity depending its surroundings. Finally, graphical representation used implemented facilitate analysis visualization crossing. performance developed control model SUMO.
